Good morning world! I have been MIA for quite some time since I haven’t finished many books or haven’t had a ton to say about what I’ve read, but I have been missing the blogging world. In fact I have been desperately trying to come up with a clever name for a blog that encompasses everything else in my life. But this morning I wanted to post my nice relaxing rainy morning. I’m getting the best puppy snuggles and getting some reading time in while my husband sleeps. Happy Saturday all! Hopefully you’ve been able to read more than I have lately. 

Book Review: Figment

Hey guys! It’s been a couple of weeks since I’ve had time to sit down and write a review for the second book in the Insanity Series by Cameron Jace. This one is called Figment. I’m having a hard time separating each book in the series since I read them all pretty quickly. This one is a little creepier than the first one… OK, a lot creepier. For some reason, I still couldn’t stop reading though. Heads stuffed in watermelons? Who thinks of this stuff? All right, I’m not giving all the details away. Let’s get started on the review!

Book Review: Insanity (Book 1)

Today I finally get to talk about the first book in a series that has really grabbed me recently. I’ve been trying to catch up on reviews, but I’ve been excited to get to this series. I’m currently awaiting the release of book 7, so I am going to do my best to not get any storylines mixed up from the first 6. The book is called Insanity by Cameron Jace, and it’s the first in his Insanity series. I got the bundle of the first three for Kindle for $0.99, which I thought was a steal. I had no idea that at the end of the three books I would basically have no choice but to keep getting the next ones! Cameron Jace is not a well-known author (that I know of), but he has several books out. Looking through his Facebook page, it looks like he responds to a lot of followers and likes to interact with everyone. Authors like that make me want to support them. Someone posted on his page that they were sad they couldn’t get his books for Nook anymore, and he replied to buy them on Amazon and let him know, and he would send her the Nook copies via email. I thought that was pretty cool… But I get sidetracked. Now onto the review!

Book Review: The Last Boyfriend

Next up we have The Last Boyfriend, book 2 in the Inn BoonsBoro series by Nora Roberts. I have to say this series has been quick. They are easy romance reads. Here I am still trying to catch up on reviews for the books I’ve read. In trying to get out of my slump, I kind of went a little crazy on the other side. I won’t complain, because I feel like I’ve made a lot of progress on reading in the last couple of weeks. I would rather be scrambling to keep up with reviews on the books I’m reading than have nothing to post about because I haven’t finished any books… like what has been the situation for quite a while now. Today, I’m reviewing The Last Boyfriend by Nora Roberts. It’s the second in the Inn Boonsboro trilogy by her. I always know Nora is a go-to author that I can count on to give me a good story at a good pace. She writes some books that are more romance centered and some that are more mystery centered. These are straight out of the box romance books, and that hit the spot for me when I was looking for a book to read this time around.

Book Review: The Next Always

I started a new series called the Inn Boonsboro by Nora Roberts. The first book is called The Next Always. I wanted to pick up something in a series so I could easily flow to the next, and I wanted to pick up something by an author I knew I would enjoy. Nora Roberts is one of my go-to authors for anything like that. She writes a good variety of things, so I can usually find something for any mood I’m in. I tend to lean toward reading more fantasy or supernatural type books, but sometimes I just want a good old-fashioned romance.

Hi everyone! Today I want to talk about a book that I had on my to-read list for quite a while. I believe it’s one that’s gotten pretty popular as I’ve seen a lot of people talking about it. It’s called Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo. I’m not sure what made me pick this up next aside from wanting something a little different. I tend to like to mix up what I’m reading. I’ll read a romance or series of romance books, and then I’ll want to read something supernatural or fantasy. So here goes:

Today I want to talk to you about another first in a series. This one is called Beautiful Storm, and it’s by Barbara Freethy. This is another one that I just randomly picked up from my recent books without reading the description. I’m kind of on a roll with that recently. I have so many books in my library that it’s very overwhelming when I have no idea what I want to read. So, I just picked this one out. It happened to be a good choice, but I’ll expand on that later!

For this book, I decided to branch out and pick one of my recent purchases. I felt like trying a new author, and I honestly picked up The Secret Sister without even reading the synopsis. Really, I just wanted to get into something after my long reading slump. Thankfully, I made a good choice with this one.

Book Review: Winter

Hi all! Honestly I finished this book quite a while ago, and I have been neglecting this blog. Something had to fall to the wayside, and unfortunately it was reading and my blog. I’m really going to try and not let that happen again. With the craziness of the Spring and Summer came a lot less time for my hobbies. Buying a house, families visiting, etc. has taken a lot out of my husband and I. But as the end of the string of events is in sight, I am going to try my best to read and update a little more.Today I’m writing about Winter, which is the fourth book in the Lunar Chronicles. I listened to two of these on audio, and I read two in ebook. This particular one I enjoyed listening to instead of reading. I’ve come to appreciate audio books because I can still get engrossed in the story without having to necessarily sit still. I love the narrator of this series, so I found that the story really came to life. The narrator can bring a whole new dimension into the world when they’re good. Due to the long time period between finishing this book and writing a review, it may not be as detailed as I normally try to be. Given that fact, I’m going to do what I usually don’t do and post the plot from Goodreads.

First, hi all! I am embarrassed at how long it has been since I’ve written a post (or since I’ve read a book for that matter). Between other hobbies, finding and buying a house, and overtime at work, reading just hasn’t been my top priority. I’m working on making it a priority to read every day again, even if it’s just a couple of chapters before bed. I’ve missed blogging and catching up on all the blogs I follow!

Today I wanted to share a review on Linda Lael Miller’s Big Sky Wedding. This is book 5 in the Big Sky series. I love going to one of her books when I’m in a reading slump or trying to get back into the routine of reading. Her books are easy to get into. They’re feel-good, easy read cowboy romances. I will admit there’s a formula to her books, but that’s OK with me when I’m looking for an easy read. Okay, on to the review:
